Convert Your California Home to Solar — Lock In a Lower, Predictable Rate
Stop watching your electric bill climb every year. Switch to a locked-in solar rate for $0 out of pocket — no system purchase, no upfront cost.
Through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), you pay for the clean electricity your home’s solar system produces — usually at a lower, fixed rate than your utility charges, and one that won’t rise with utility rate hikes for the length of your agreement. You never own the equipment, so there’s no maintenance, no repair costs, and no $0-down purchase required.
Note: a PPA is not free electricity and it doesn’t eliminate your bill — it replaces a rising utility bill with a predictable solar payment that’s typically lower. We’ll show you the real numbers for your home before you sign anything.
Why 2026 Changes the Math on Going Solar
1. The federal tax credit for buying your own system is gone. As of January 1, 2026, the 30% federal residential tax credit (Section 25D) no longer applies to homeowners who purchase a system with cash or a loan. That credit still applies to third-party-owned systems like PPAs and leases — meaning the tax-credit value can still reach you, just passed through as a lower monthly rate instead of a check from the IRS.
2. California’s NEM 3.0 rules made rooftop-solar-only payback slower for owned systems. Exporting excess power back to the grid is worth much less than it used to be, which is part of why battery storage and PPA/no-ownership models have become the more common path for California homeowners in 2026.
3. Utility rates keep climbing. Residential electricity rates nationally have risen roughly 32% over the past decade, with the pace accelerating since 2022 — and California utilities have been among the fastest-rising in the country. A locked-in solar rate protects you from the next decade of increases.
Convert Your Home to Solar and:

Save Money Every Month
Most California homeowners who go solar see meaningful savings over the life of their system compared to staying on standard utility rates — the exact number depends on your usage, roof, and current rate plan. We’ll run your specific numbers before you commit.

Lock In a Predictable Rate
Utility rates have been rising well above inflation for several years running. A PPA locks your electricity rate for the term of the agreement, so future utility rate hikes don’t touch you the same way.

Reduce Your Carbon Footprint
Producing clean power from the sun on your own roof directly displaces electricity generated from fossil fuels.

Add Battery Storage
Under California’s current NEM 3.0 rules, exporting extra solar power to the grid pays much less than it used to. Pairing your system with a battery lets you store your own daytime solar production and use it in the evening — when your usage (and utility rates) tend to be highest — instead of selling it back cheaply.

Real California Homeowners, Real Results
Individual results vary based on system size, roof, energy usage, and rate plan.

~$30,000 in projected lifetime savings

— Daniel Erickson

Guided through the entire decision
“Boris helped me choose the right solar panels and installer for my home and office building, and pointed out exactly what to look for in a proposal. Very knowledgeable on the latest technology.”
— Cvetan Mechev, DDS, La Mesa Dental Center

$0 upfront, free proposal
“When Powur offered me a free proposal I thought I’d see what it could do. The best part was it didn’t cost me anything upfront.”
— Juanito Cantero

Annual electric bills as low as $35–75
